For the last time..

Over the last two weeks of learning about technology, I have learned more in this class than I have in many other technology classes. Not that I’ve taken a bunch, but I like how I can leave this class and I have learned a lot of different resources and tools and fun assignments. This class allowed me to learn tools and take them into my future classroom. It was a lot of work and at times it was a lot of hard work that took a while to complete, but I think it was worth it at the end of the day because I am leaving with a lot of knowledge.
A wrap-up of the whole class is easier said than done. I feel like this was a really important class for me to take because I am a very hands-on learner, and although this class is asynchronous, I was able to have hands-on learning. Which is something that I missed since the pandemic and since leaving traditional school. So I enjoyed all the assignments. I enjoyed learning that I can make a blog for myself, and it’s not too hard to create videos for YouTube. I also enjoyed the project where we got to build codes and make our animals dance to a song. I enjoyed teaching everyone how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich through steps on a different platform I had never heard of. I enjoyed making my Padlet and QR code. It made me feel very tech-savvy. Especially when it all worked, and when it all came together.
I’m leaving this class with more knowledge than I came in. I am proud of all the work that I was able to accomplish.
Unfortunately, I was unable to complete the last assignment because I don’t have the book and time was not in my favor this previous week. I understand that it’s part of the grade but truth be told I am very proud of the work that I did for all of the eight weeks here. I was kind of hoping that the last assignment was going to be something with another cool website and I’d have to make another video or I’d have to teach another assignment through my digital classroom. Although that’s not the case, I know that I am leaving this class knowing that technology is extremely important to have in the classroom. Not only is it beneficial for the teacher because I’m able to support my students when I’m not there or maybe support them differently, but I’m also able to save my work and go back, and as time goes on ways of teaching and learning change. So I can adjust my teaching strategies to help my students. When I made my presentation last week about how to teach my students multiplication through digital learning, I was incredibly proud of that because it is an assignment that I can show them in class and help them as much as I can but if my students still do not understand they’re able to watch my YouTube videos at home and learn at a comfortable speed.
Technology is not just for people who are professionals at it. Technology is helpful in all aspects and I think technology is extremely important to have in the classroom. With technology, you’re able to not only teach the students to understand right away, but you’re able to support the students who may need extra help but are too embarrassed to come forward about it. And through these new ways of teaching, teachers can reach a more broad audience. And include all of the students with all the different learning strategies. Technology brings us all together.
